Thursday 27th July - Windsurf *** The Manor at Felixstowe - cloudy with
light rain:(.
Foil - 17.90 knot max, 16.60 knot ave, 10.29 knot hour, 15.40 knot mile,
38.42 km., 11.73 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham
Storm 6.5.
Headed down to The Manor with Mag for her walk around 11.15 and arrived to
light rain, in fact it was heavy cloud the whole session. The rain quickly
stooped so Mag set off and I set up my foil board and the WSW, cross off
breeze looked marginal at best so rigged 6.5m. It was a funny couple of
hours with the wind very gusty and the sea lumpy so not great, at times I
did not feel that comfortable not helped by a dodgy left knee. At times I
was overpowered then could not get going at all:( I started off sailing
down towards the peir but the wind was particularly patchy so headed back
where I did some long runs out to the shipping channel nothing fast mainly
due to the gusty wind and lumpy sea! There were foiler and a winger out in
far from ideal conditions. The weekend is again looking windy but not sure
where to go yet, perhaps search out some smoother water somewhere?
